A 2021 Sky-Dweller in steel and yellow gold with the black dial, the most complicated watch in the collection: annual calendar and dual time zone in a package that stays legible. The one clearly contemporary Rolex here, and it earns its place.

How it found me
I ignored the Sky-Dweller when it first launched; the face was too busy for me. But as I learned the mechanical complexity and the innovation of the twisting bezel, I wanted to add one to the collection. On a holiday I received an email for an estate sale selling a Rolex. I inquired and stumbled upon a watch that I wanted, but that felt like it found me.
